8th SGDF SINGAPORE
OPEN DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS
featuring
2009 IDSF ASIA PACIFIC DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS
IDSF OPEN STANDARD & LATIN CHAMPIONSHIPS (World-Ranking Event)
Following
the remarkable success in previous SGDF Singapore Open series in previous
years, the Singapore DanceSport Federation (SGDF) is organising the
8th SGDF Singapore Open DanceSport Championships. This will be the
eighth time in ten years that this highly anticipated series is
being organised.
For the third time, the IDSF Asia Pacific DanceSport Championships
makes a return to Singapore.
The IDSF Open World Ranking
Championships were first introduced in 1993 to rank DanceSport
competitors worldwide. In this ranking system, all competitors are
given ranking points, which will be accumulated over a one-year
period. At any one time, the total aggregate points of a couple will
determine the couple’s position in world rankings.
